
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO THE IPC WORLD MATCH PLAY
Q. In which order will I play the holes?
A. The holes of the course must be played in order (l through 9, 10 through 18 or 1 through 18). You must always play by the rules. You are not allowed to change them.
Q. Who will be the winner of the hole?
A. In match play the game is played by holes, each hole is a separate contest. A hole is won by the side which holes out in the fewest strokes. In a handicap match the lower net score wins the hole.
Q. How to reckon the holes?
A. The reckoning of holes is kept by the terms: so many "holes up'' or "all square,'' and so many "to play.'' A side is "dormie'' when it is as many holes up as there are holes remaining to be played.
Q. When will a hole be halved?
A. A hole is halved if each side holes out in the same number of strokes. When a player has holed out and his opponent has been left with a stroke for the half, if the player thereafter incurs a penalty, the hole is halved.
Q. When will I win the match?
A. A match, which consists of 18 holes, is won by the side which is leading by a number of holes greater than the number of holes remaining to be played.
Q. What should I do, when there will be a dispute about rules?
A. If a doubt or dispute arises, the players shall continue the match without delay. Any claim, will be considered by the Committee, after it is sent to
admin@ipcgolf.com. The result of the claim will be emailed to the players. and match must be made before any player in the match plays from the next teeing ground or, in the case of the last hole of the match, before all players in the match leave the putting green.
Q. What kind of penalty will I receive, when I breach a rule?
A. The penalty for a breach of a Rule in match play is loss of hole except when otherwise provided.
Q. What about my handicap, when I play the WMP?
A. Maximum Handicap is -36. The Committee suggest using the 3⁄4 Handicap systems. Click here to see 3⁄4 Handicap calculations. The decision using 3⁄4 or full handicap has to be made prior to registration by the players.
Q. Who can participate at the IPC WMP?
A. Only Golfers with a valid IPC logg-in and password can participate in a match. A functional e-mail address is compulsory.
Q. How will I be registrated for the WMP?
A. All Matches shall be confirmed and reported to the Tournament Committee by using the tournament's virtual Clubhouse prior to play. The result must be reported to the Tournament Committee within two weeks by using the tournament's virtual Clubhouse. If no result has been received within the 2 weeks, the game will automatically be declared viod (no return).
Q. How many rounds can I play each yaer?
A. The maximum numbers of tournament rounds per year, will be decided by the Tournament Committee prior to the start of the tournament series each year. The same is the total numbers a player can be played against the same player each year.
Q. How will I earn the points?
A. The winner of a match earns
3 points, the looser
1 point. If there is a tie after 18 Holes each player earns
2 points.
Q. What about the Leaderbords?
A. IPC World Match Play provides you with several leader boards. The earned points will be added to the player’s home country leader board. Only this leader board will show the Order of Merit for IPC World Match Play. All other leader boards are for information only.
Players with equal points; if two or more players have equal points, the player with the best score will have the highest position on the leader board.
Q. How will I earn bonuspoints?
A. IPC World Match Play provides you with bonus points. Archived bonus points do not count on the Order of Merit.
Q. What about the finals?
A. National and International Finals for each tournaments year will be arranged by the Tournament Committee. The format will be Match play. The number of national and international finalists depends on the total numbers of players in each country. The Tournament Committee will have the right to give Wild Cards to other players from other leader boards than the Order of Merit.
